President Muhammed Buhari Declared JUN 12TH As New Democracy Day To Honor Late Chief MKO Abiola As The Winner Of June 12, 1993 Presidential Election Posthumously!

President Muhammed Buhari has announced new Democracy Day celebration for Nigeria! June 12th is declared as the new Democracy Day. This is to honor late Chief MKO Abiola, the winner of June 12, 1993 presidential election.

PMB made the announcement via is twitter handle. Also confirmed that MKO Abiola will be awarded Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) posthumously.


His running mate Alhaji Baba Gana Kinigbe will be also honored.

Chief Late Gani Fawehinme (GCON) posthumously for his effort in the struggle.
